Sweater weather is upon us—kind of. While temperatures have been dropping low in the mornings and evenings, there’s still plenty of sunshine, meaning your days are not chilly enough to warrant that winter coat just yet (in most parts of the country, anyway). Happy shopping, lady bears!

The Jean Jacket

Whether you go for the more traditional, two-pocket style, or a chambray take on a blazer or parka, the weight of a denim jacket is perfect for this time of year. Fit is paramount—look out especially for cuff lengths and where the jacket cuts your waist (just grazing over your belt loops is usually ideal), and consider sizing up on a traditional jean jacket to achieve the oversize look that’s very fashionable this season.

The Outerwear Sweater

The cardigan is a workplace staple year-round for keeping you cozy at your desk, but these particular knits are a little more substantial, making them the perfect light outerwear for a stroll. Look for feminine details, like ribbed cuffs that hug sleeves close to the wrist, attached belts that cinch at the waist, and lapels that mimic a casual blazer jacket.

Ryder cardigan sweater ($98, Madewell)
Everlane the chunky wool cardigan ($110, Everlane)
